Full Job Description

Based in our Edinburgh Team but working remotely you will be part of a hardworking and growing team of 14 Engineer/Consultants. Working in our Infrastructure Engineering team specialising on our Renewable Energy Portfolio, we are looking for a Senior / Principal Engineer to bolster our current team. You should be proficient with the design standards within the DMRB and have worked on roads schemes including the delivery of Road Construction Consent applications. Previous experience of onsite design of Onshore Wind Farms is desirable but not essential. You will also be capable of managing your own workload and attending Client meetings and workshops. We do use a range of design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Infraworks, this is desirable but not essential. You will lead the technical contribution to projects, whilst contributing to business development. This position requires you to perform a variety of complex technical, professional and financial activities. As part of the day to day role you will manage medium projects or several small projects with complex features. It is essential to fully understand the scope of projects and ensure all additional works above and beyond the contracted scope are documented as appropriate with the Client (for sign off and approval). This forms part of you being a technical lead for area of expertise while supporting the development of the team. Main Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards and signed contract parameters
  • Engage in client and third party liaison within the scope of the signed contract parameters
  • Undertake marketing and business development role to achieve full potential of project scope and budget spend
  • Prepare own discipline designs, design calculations, tender documentation, scheme evaluations, design statements and other reports as identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects
  • Monitor quality of own discipline team work in accordance with good engineering practice, relevant standards, Codes of Practice, current design methods and Health & Safety legislation
  • Constantly promote the capabilities of the company to current and prospective clients
  • Comply with IMS & BMS procedures
