Full Job Description
Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for a Senior Production Manager.
Our client is a leading UK wide manufacturer,this role will sit within their Glasgow Operation.
The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves managing production teams, optimizing production processes, improving safety standards, and driving operational excellence to meet company objectives. The Senior Production Manager will play a key role in production planning, resource management, budget control, and process improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
• Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while meeting quality standards.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Procurement, Quality Assurance, Logistics) to ensure alignment of production schedules and inventory levels.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays or disruptions.
Team Leadership & Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
• Ensure that production teams are well-trained on processes, equipment, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
• Analyse production processes and identify opportunities for process optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to drive operational improvements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to ensure operational goals are met.
Quality Control & Compliance:
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
• Develop and enforce best practices in quality control and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Budget & Resource Management:
• Manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources, equipment.
• Monitor production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and work with senior management to optimize operational spending.
• Oversee inventory control, ensuring efficient use of materials and minimizing excess stock.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in, Manufacturing (food or drinks sector related) or related field (preferred).
• Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a production management role, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position.
• Strong background in managing large teams and complex production operations.
• Proven experience with process optimization, cost control, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
