Senior Project Manager (Defence)

On behalf of our multi-dis consultancy client, we are exclusively recruiting experienced Defence Project Managers to join our clients team in Scotland, working on a large framework in Faslane. In this role, you will lead and manage high-profile defence projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with their clients, including government agencies and defence contractors, to develop and implement project plans that meet their specific needs and objectives.

Our client will consider candidates with 3+ years experience up to project director level. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of defence projects, particularly within the large framework at Faslane, ensuring alignment with client requirements and objectives.
• Manage project teams, including subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to clients and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the defence sector, including NEC4 contract requirements.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the defence sector, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
• Strong understanding of defence industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• NEC4 contract experience is required, with a solid understanding of its applications in project management. NEC4 accreditation is advantageous. 
• Experience managing large frameworks, particularly in defence environments like Faslane, is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
• Relevant qualifications, such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
• Must be able to gain SC Clearance
