Full Job Description
We are a working with a leading civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow, specialising in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across various sectors. Position Overview: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their established and dynamic commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake cost estimation, tendering, and procurement activities.
- Manage subcontractor agreements and payments.
- Monitor project costs and financial performance against budget.
- Prepare and submit accurate progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering projects and contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel and QS software.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently.
