Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
Our client is simply one of the best employers in the industry with a positive and supportive culture supported by a profitable and sustainable project pipeline. Due to some project wins, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to their business. This role is working for some of their most important clients and will be focused on delivering a range of projects across public sector building infrastructure over the next few years. Your initial project will be a 10million refurbishment project in Edinburgh and this will be followed by a range of similar projects across the Central Belt.


Your new role
Your role will be initially site based in Edinburgh, but our client offers a supportive and progressive agile flexible work policy so candidates from across the Central Belt will be considered. Future projects will be across the Central Belt and our client's client's head office is based in a convenient central location. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to commercially deliver a range of projects across public sector infrastructure. Reporting to the Sector commercial manager, you will be expected to ensure your projects are commercially successful through effective commercial management, procurement and reporting. As Senior QS, you will be expected to deliver accurate and timely reports and work closely with your client and other stakeholders to ensure a positive commercial relationship is developed. Working with your experienced site team, you will capture and mitigate any commercial risk and ensure it is managed in line with project targets and commercial expectations.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is a Project QS seeking to step into a Senior QS role or a Senior QS who is seeking to work for a leading employer in the industry. You will have experience of delivering construction projects to the public sector and understand the contracts typically aligned with these projects. You will have exceptional presentation and communication skills and will be comfortable holding your own commercially in meetings with your clients and their representatives. An ambition to build a career with a leading tier 1 builder is essential!
