Senior Software Engineer

You're a software engineer with a depth of experience in full-stack JavaScript development. You'll be responsible for leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of Software Engineers, taking accountability for all delivery and operational activities. You'll be passionate about technology, both current and future trends, and will look for opportunities to bring these into the Lab, whilst being a role model for your team and colleagues around you.

The Waterfront Platform is central to our recently launched strategy to drive customer engagement digital and mobile first. The platform manages multiple digital channels across customer, adviser and colleague, and co-ordinates the development of consistent experiences in these channels across our business. Within the platform, the purpose of Digital Channel Servicing Lab is to help customers engage with their insurance products through customer-centric design, introducing strategic technologies to create a safe and future ready digital experience.

Proven experience as a Software Engineer of:

• Extensive hands on experience of full-stack JavaScript/Typescript - React.js and Node.js


• Superior knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, WDIO


• Microservices architecture


• Kubernetes, Docker


• A passion for encouraging, mentoring & motivating those around you


And any experience of these would be nice to have

• Google Cloud Platform and associated build and deployment technologies


• Enterprise integrations and infrastructure
