Full Job Description

Our client is a leading renewable energy business dedicated to innovating and implementing sustainable energy solutions. Based in Glasgow, they are at the cutting edge of renewable technology and are seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to join their growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials and services essential for their groundbreaking projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the sourcing and procurement activities for key renewable energy projects.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans and implement best practices to optimise cost, quality, and supply reliability.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring alignment with company goals and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value.
  • Oversee the supplier evaluation and selection process, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Prepare detailed reports on sourcing activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and market conditions.

Requirements:


  • Extensive experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
  • Ability to analyse data and market trends to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
