Full Job Description

Reporting to the Team Lead, this Monday to Friday role is responsible for accurately controlling and co-ordinating the shipping and manifesting of cargo to all customer locations. Duties include:

  • Responsible for overseeing the effective co-ordination of the movement of inbound and outbound cargo between vendors, ASCO Bases and various offshore locations.


  • Ensure the customer's shipping is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Specific focus should be applied to the adherence to the UK Oil and Gas Guidelines.


  • Seek to understand client's requirements and deliver services that are responsive to diverse customer needs.


  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and suggest improvements and or changes to the process where required.


  • Preparation of the load-out list and update daily.


  • Oversee the effective distribution and dissemination of information.


  • Interrogate client's load lists for anomalies and checking for timing issues.


  • Expedite load list material and co-ordinate/manifest both inbound/outbound cargo.


  • Tracking the customer's material though ASCO's/Client systems, investigating any issues or queries that may arise.


  • Liaise between transport/vendors and client regarding cargo deliveries.


  • Be conversant with manifesting systems and deal with discrepancies.


  • Attending customer operational morning calls and ensuring information is communicated effectively to other members of the team and other departments.


  • Production of various reports - Departure Reports, Deck Utilisation etc.


  • Liaising with the client representatives\vessel masters\surveyors\bulk companies and building strong relationships.

    Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with stakeholder engagement skills.


  • Problem solving with a logical approach.


  • High level of attention to detail and ability to consider the bigger picture when planning.


  • Effective Time Management with ability to plan and prioritise workload.


  • Conversant with UK Oil and Gas Best Practice for the safe packing and handling of cargo to and from offshore locations.


  • Knowledge of quayside operations.


  • Competence in the use of Microsoft office programs (particularly word, Excel and PowerPoint.


  • Exposure to Logistics/Financial management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Maximo, or similar.


  • Operating knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.


  • Desirable Qualifications/Competencies

  • Practical experience of HM Revenue & Customs and moving Dangerous Goods by Sea.


  • Knowledge of SAP, WELS, MAXIMO and QMS.

    A current Biometric Immigration Document (Biometric Residence Permit) issued by the Home Office to the holder which indicates that the named person can currently stay in the UK and is allowed to do the work in question
    A current Immigration Status Document containing a photograph issued by the Home Office to the holder with a valid endorsement indicating that the named person may stay in the UK, and is allowed to do the type of work in question, together with an official document giving the person's permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a Government agency or a previous employer
    An Application Registration Card issued by the Home Office stating that the holder is permitted to take the employment in question
