Smart Plant Director

As a Digital Manufacturing Director in our Intelligent Industry practice you will lead the sales and delivery of projects to transform our clients' manufacturing operations through the adoption of digital technologies.

You will work with leaders in Operations and Engineering functions to define the digitisation strategy, calculate the business case, design the transformation roadmap to achieve the strategy and lead client teams in adopting new ways of working.

You will lead teams of consultants working closely with operators and technicians to make changes sustainable thus assuring long-term benefits.

Our consultants typically work directly alongside our clients in their manufacturing facilities, keeping the focus of digitisation on the user experience and the business outcomes.

As a Director, you will build teams to deliver such projects and take responsibility for the personal and professional development of the practitioners.

You will typically work with colleagues from Capgemini's Engineering, Data and Cloud Services businesses, collaborating to design, build and implement digital solutions that enable our clients to improve service levels, reduce costs and improve sustainability outcomes.

As part of the Intelligent Industry extended leadership team you will share responsibility for the growth of our practice and practitioners.

Why this role?

We are looking for a Director to lead the growth of our Digital Manufacturing consulting business with a focus on the Life Science industry.

Working in team that focuses on transforming the manufacturing outcomes for our clients through the application of Manufacturing Excellence and Digitisation you will help set the direction, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team.

Key expectations from this role include :

• Define the growth strategy for Digital Manufacturing in the Life Science sector;


• Understand the market needs and creating offerings that have clear repeatable value to our clients;


• Work with the Sector Unit teams to develop and execute targeted business development campaigns to grow a pipeline of business aligned to your area of responsibility;


• Work in cross-functional teams to improve our clients' manufacturing operations through digitisation and through the empowerment of their teams;


• Use the Capgemini tools and methods to :


• Define clients' Digital Manufacturing vision, strategy and transformation roadmap;Identify and qualify use cases that will improve key metrics including OEE, OTIF, Capacity, Cost of Sales, Waste and Energy Consumption;


• Design scalable IT / OT solutions that can be extended from a Proof of Concept to adoption across multiple lines and sites;


• Lead business transformation enabled by software solutions such as MES;Embed new ways of working, with a focus on business adoption;


Measure and report benefits; andLead the implementation of use cases across our clients' global operations.

• Contribute to Capgemini's thought leadership in Digital Manufacturing and the use of exponential technologies including Generative AI, Machine Learning, Edge, Cloud, 5G and OT;


• Developing mutually beneficial partnerships with technology providers and ecosystem partners;


• Collaborate across all relevant business units in Capgemini to always bring the best to every client situation;


• Identify investment areas for consulting, hard or soft assets that enable us to create differentiated value and be seen as the driver of innovation to our customers business;


• Grow and lead your teams responsibly according to business demand while creating a high performing, yet trusted, supportive collaborate environment that attracts and retains the best people;


• Lead by example and deliver what you sell, create a culture of delivery excellence, and have fun while you are doing it;


• Consider Sustainability in all of your business activities, from they way we do business through to how our services help clients achieve their environmental objectives.
  
  A background in transforming manufacturing and / or supply chain operations to deliver a step-change in performance in regulated industries such as Life Sciences and Consumer Health;


• Experience in leading the implementation of digital technologies to manufacturing and / or supply chain operations;


• A passion for leading operational improvements with a focus on employee engagement and empowerment;


• A curiosity about the use of digital technologies and an interest in how these can be used for triple bottom line improvements;


• The business acumen and skills to create compelling business cases for investment and change;


• Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions;


• Experience of proposition building and deliver; and


• Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and / or with experience in a blue-chip industrial company
