Social Care Worker (Children and Young People)

37 hours per week, shift working over 7 days including evenings and weekends
Permanent
£31,942 - £32,642 / £33,448 - £35,910
£16.56 - £16.92 / £17.34 - £18.61 per hour
The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance and shift allowance

The residential children’s service in Orkney is committed to providing a safe, stable, and nurturing home setting for looked after children. We are seeking a Social Care Worker who will be committed to maintaining a positive and safe environment for children and young people and to work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies.

Applicants should be willing to work on a seven-day, sleep in shift pattern basis which includes evening, weekends, and public holidays.

You should hold an SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, AND a HNC Social Services or other relevant qualification(s) to enable registration with SSSC as a Practitioner in Residential Childcare Services, or there is a requirement to achieve relevant qualification(s) within 5 years of appointment.

You must register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Residential Childcare Services within six months of your start date.

In return, you will be provided with regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your existing skills.
