Vacancy Information

Hourly rate of pay: £21.14 - £23.56

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of appropriate relevant experience and qualifications and salary placed within the advertised scale.

Days and hours of work:
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00
Flexi time is applicable.

This is a key post in social work assessment and case management of service users with Learning Disabilities in East Lothian. This post will sit in the wider Integrated Community Learning Disability Team

Core work of the team includes assessment, case management and review of adults with LD, young people transitioning to Adult Services from school, Guardianship reviews and statutory Adult Support and Protection work. The recruitment to this post is now essential to ensure the LD team can manage work tor the Health and Social Care Partnership to fulfil its statutory requirements in relation to social care and related legislation.

The successful candidate will have a robust approach to fulfilling social work requirements within the legislative framework, whilst thinking creatively in their approach to supporting people and local communities to achieve their identified outcomes along with individual social work responsibility for a case load. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the requirements of council officer under the Adult Support Protection Act and will participate in a range of social work related duties and roles

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration

Job Requirements

Education/Qualifications
Essential: Approved qualification in Social Work, and SSSC registration.
Those with international Social Work qualifications should not apply unless they are fully registered with the SSSC.

Driving Licence
Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle*

PVG Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
