Full Job Description

Children and Families service in North Ayrshire is undertaking an exciting time of change and we are recruiting experienced Social Workers to join our redesigned Child Protection Team. The developments within our Child Protection Team will ensure families are supported by one team and worker throughout the period where they require Social Work support. We have implemented Signs of Safety and Safe and Together and redesigned our key C&F paperwork utilising these models to assist practitioners to have the tools to work where at all possible in collaboration with families and their networks. We feel these best supports change where child welfare/child protection worries are identified and enables workers to spend their time focused on relationships and working directly with families. We would like you to a have a sound knowledge and skill base in relation to understanding the complex issues that surround child protection work. We are expanding our CP Team to enable weighted caseloads, so, Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted in instalments from your wages following commencement of employment.
