£35,378 - £37,736 (28.8 Hours per week)
Children and Disability Team, Pullar House, Perth

This role covers the whole of the Perth & Kinross area and you will work with a variety of professionals to foster a multi disciplinary and whole family approach.

Experience and knowledge of the issues that impact upon disabled children and their families is also essential as is an awareness and understanding of child development, attachment and the impact of trauma.

You will carry out direct work with children, young people and their families.
From assessing to provide support, child protection, working with Looked After and accommodated children, and monitoring packages of support.

You will be expected to work in line with the principles of 'Getting it Right for Every Child' putting inter agency working at the forefront of your practice.

You will also be required to complete assessments and write reports for a variety of forums including Child Protection Planning Meetings, The Children's Hearing system and Court.

You should have good report writing skills and be able to prioritise your workload and meet timescales. The recording of case notes is central to practice and you should be able to do this accurately and in a timeous manner as part of the Social Worker role.

You will be able to communicate clearly in a variety of settings with a wide range of people from differing roles and backgrounds and needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated professional to join our team with a genuine interest in supporting children, young people and their families.

Requirements

Social Work Degree.

The Individual

As a person, you will be compassionate and have empathy for the children, young people and families who you support. You will also be organised and able to work flexibly to meet service need.

You will be able to evidence a strong commitment to multi-agency working and be a skilled and confident communicator; able to fully contribute to assessment reports and in Professional Meetings, Child Protection Planning Meetings, Core Groups and Children's Hearings.

This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated.  In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
