Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of appropriate relevant experience and qualifications and salary placed within the advertised scale.

Hourly rate of pay: £20.41-£22.74

Post 1 - 17.5 Hours per Week
Days and hours of work:
Working 3 days a week between Monday and Friday, days are negotiable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.
Flexi time is applicable.

Post 2 - 35 Hours per Week
Days and hours of work:
Monday - Friday, starting and finishing times are flexible.
Flexi time is applicable.

East Lothian Children's Services has an exciting opportunity for a Social worker to join the Disability Team. The team is our specialist team working with children, young people, and their families, affected by complex and enduring disabilities. The team consists of a team leaders, 2 senior practitioners, 2.5 social workers and 1.5 family support workers and has dedicated administrative support.

The team is our specialist team working with children, young people, and their families affected by complex and enduring disabilities across East Lothian. The care at home crisis has resulted in some creative and innovative practice being developed, with the team undertaking all aspects of this work from referral, assessment, setting up and reviewing packages of support. The post holder will hold a caseload of children, young people with complex and enduring disabilities and be a key part of the team.

Job Requirements

Education/Qualifications
Essential: Approved qualification in Social Work, and SSSC registration.
Those with international Social Work qualifications should not apply unless they are fully registered with the SSSC.

Driving Licence
Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle*
(*Where a disability precludes you from obtaining a driving licence, ELC will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability).

PVG/Disclosure Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
