Full Job Description
As a social worker in the Children and Families Disability Pod you will be required to work in accordance with The Promise and partner with children, young people, their families and communities to provide services in collaboration with other agencies and organisations.
Within this collaborative framework you will assist in the identification of local need and work with families when applying Self Directed Support to identify appropriate services which support whole resilience in relationships, meet identified Outcomes and manage risks.
Responsibilities
To partner with children, young people with a disability and their families to promote their wellbeing and the wellbeing of unpaid Carers.
To further promote the wellbeing of children, young people with a disability and their families by working with other agencies, organisations and individuals.
To participate in the development, monitoring and evaluation of services for children, young people with a disability and their families.
Experience within child care/child protection setting or potential to adapt other relevant experience.
Understanding of Lead Professional role in a multi-agency environment.
A Degree/CQSW/Diploma in Social Work and SSSC Registration.
We will consider applications from Social Workers in Training in the final months for the Social Work Degree Course.
Knowledge of, and ability to work effectively within, relevant child care legislation and practice.
Good assessment and report writing skills.
Good communication and mediation skills.
Good organisational skills.
Significant knowledge of the needs of children with disrupted lives.
Ability to challenge practice appropriately.
Ability to contribute to service development.
Ability to work effectively with Area Team Social Workers and other agency staff.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
Effective communication skills; oral and written.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to service development.
Ability to deal with personal stress, and support carers in crisis.
Be reliable and consistent.

Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.
Ability to work in an open plan office (if applicable).
Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.
