Full Job Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using modern programming techniques and best practices.
  • Implement scalable and efficient code across the entire application stack, ensuring seamless integration within the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, product, operations, and support, to ensure high-quality software delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining coding standards across the team.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of software applications throughout the development and deployment process.
  • Address production issues, provide quick resolutions, and prioritize customer experience in all development efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve development practices and product quality.

  • Right to work in the UK
  • UI Development Expertise: experience in developing dynamic web applications using Angular or React, with a focus on best practices and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrable Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript: Solid experience in developing applications using TypeScript or JavaScript, with a good understanding of language features, asynchronous programming, and best practices for code quality and maintainability.
  • HTML and CSS: Experience with HTML and CSS (ideally CSS frameworks) for crafting well structured and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and analyse complex technical challenges, and implement effective solutions
  • Git Proficiency: Extensive experience using git and git-based repositories such as GitHub for version control, including managing repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, and collaboration workflows to enhance team productivity and code quality
  • Knowledge of current software trends and emerging technologies: to evaluate their impact on development practices and apply relevant innovations to enhance our software development practices.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Accessible web development: experience building web applications with a strong focus on accessibility, following WCAG standards to ensure an inclusive user experience for people with disabilities
  • Automated UI testing: Experience with automated UI test frameworks like WebdriverIO, including writing and maintaining test scripts for continuous quality assurance.
  • Project management tools: Experience in using project management tools like Jira for task tracking, sprint planning, and collaboration.
  • Continuous Integration (CI) Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CI systems such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Generative AI: Understanding of the current state of LLMs, Generative AI and their usage.
  • Containerization and Orchestration Experience: including creating, deploying, and managing containerized applications using tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience conducting code reviews: providing clear feedback to improve code quality, maintainability and adherence to best practices.
