Full Job Description

As a Software Engineer within the Adviser Lab, part of the Waterfront platform, where we aim to be the best loved partner to Advisers with personalised Digital experiences, delivering an industry leading service that enables end customer success.

You'll be responsible for leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of Software Engineers, taking accountability for all delivery and operational activities. You'll be passionate about technology, both current and future trends, and will look for opportunities to bring these into the Lab, whilst being a role model for your team and colleagues around you.

  • Contribute to the strategic direction for engineering delivery within our teams.

  • Lead a culture of continual improvement.

  • Driving an 'automation first' approach across the teams

  • Act as a mentor, coach, and role model to lab colleagues, implementing a learning culture and a focus on personal and team development.

  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues and teams to achieve shared success.

  • Lead transformational initiatives across the platform or broader programme.

    Proven experience in Senior Engineering delivery roles

  • Have evolving knowledge of, and interest in engineering principles, practices, and technologies.

  • Strong exposure to modern web technologies especially JavaScript (Node.js or react.js) as well as RESTful APIS and web services.

  • Strong exposure to C#\.Net.

  • Experience with low code platforms or with XML based markup languages such as XAML or HTML

  • Experience in CI and CD would also be an advantage (support and training in this can be provided).

  • Expertise in delivering and supporting high-availability, high-performance systems.

  • Have effective collaboration and communication skills, able to work and influence across functional boundaries.

  • A passion for coaching, developing & motivating colleagues.
