Software Engineer

Our Team develops and maintain applications using modern tooling and technologies, in an Agile environment within a wider Financial Services domain. We need a Software Engineering leader with broad capabilities and experience, including

• The knowledge and ability to lead software engineering initiatives, including technical deliveries and engineering improvements using Agile methodologies underpinned by Jira
• The passion to lead and mentor software engineers within the team, driving a collaborative culture
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and a passion for advocating quality across Product & Engineering
• Significant exposure to and applicable skill in modern web technologies, especially Java, Docker, Apache Struts, Java Server Pages, HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, CSS, WebSphere.
• Deep knowledge of modern software development pipeline toolsets including Jenkins, Git and quality scanning apps like SonarQube and NexusIQ
• Solid experience within a modern software engineering team dealing directly with stakeholders from other parts of the business to understand requirements and translate into solutions using a spread of technologies. This should include experience of integrating software built by other teams and/or 3rd party suppliers.

• Helping us define and communicate our engineering strategy, methods, and approaches; working with others to implement and embed within our end-to-end engineering activity
• Working with teams and partners to define, agree and implement optimal approaches; utilising the right tools and techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for the business
