NHS Tayside's Women, Children and Families Team is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Pharmacist to spearhead the development of our new local Paediatric Formulary. This role will work across clinical boundaries to create, implement, and maintain the highly anticipated NHS Tayside Paediatric Formulary. Beyond the developmental aspect, this position also encompasses a clinical component to bolster the formulary's growth and advance practice in the field., We are seeking a pharmacist to join our friendly and supportive team. As part of our team, you will be part of a passionate group dedicated to delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care of the highest quality to our patients. This role offers a unique chance to collaborate closely with our exceptional Paediatric and Neonatal multidisciplinary team (MDT), utilizing your prescribing skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings.,

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the NHS Tayside Paediatric Formulary.

  • Work closely with the Paediatric and Neonatal MDT to support the development and integration of the formulary.

  • Use your prescribing skills in clinical settings to enhance the formulary's efficacy and relevance.

  • Collaborate with the Adult Tayside Area Formulary (TAF) team, primary care, and community pharmacy colleagues.

  • Contribute to the professional practice development in line with the Advanced Practice and/or Consultant level framework.


  • Support and Development:

    The successful candidate will receive robust support from the Women, Children and Families team and be line managed by the Lead WCF Pharmacist. There will be close collaboration with the team responsible for the Tayside Adult Area Formulary, which has a 30-year history of ensuring safe, cost-effective use of medicines for adults. This is an exciting opportunity to create a similar legacy for paediatric patients. You will be supported to develop your practice with an agreed job plan and time scheduled to work across all four pillars of advanced practice.

  • Ability to work as part of a team with excellent collaborative skills.

  • Registered Independent Prescriber or working towards the qualification.

  • Postgraduate Diploma / MSc in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
