Full Job Description

Fife Neuro Rehabilitation Service is a multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation unit providing expert neuro-rehabilitation to adults aged 16- 64 in an in-patient, out-patient and community setting.

The unit, based at Sir George Sharp Unit, Cameron Hospital consists of a 12 bedded in-patient facility with a Fife wide out-patient/community service.  We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and hard working occupational therapist to join our team based at Sir George Sharp Unit, Cameron Hospital to cover a maternity leave.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months and presents an excellent opportunity for career development.  You will work closely with the multi disciplinary team and have the opportunity to gain skills in specialist occupational therapy assessment, intervention and management of patients with highly complex neurological needs including cognitive, physical, psychological and psychosocial difficulties.  You should possess excellent communication, interpersonal & time management skills, have a working knowledge of basic information technology and a have a willingness to be an active team player.

You will receive comprehensive induction and ongoing training in relation to neurological rehabilitation from highly experienced Occupational Therapists within the service.  The service offers opportunities for continued professional development including training opportunities, with a comprehensive supervision policy.  Secondments will be considered, however applicants must have agreement from their current Line Manager before applying.

Qualifications: A degree in Occupational Therapy is essential.  Evidence of relevant training specific to neurological or stroke rehabilitation would be advantageous.  Applicants should be registered with HCPC.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
