Specialist Occupational Therapist

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

This is a fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.

This post is based within Gartnavel Royal Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Adult service.  The post holder provides a specialist clinical lead within this inpatient service. The post holder delivers specialist occupational therapy assessment, effective person centred interventions and evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment. The post holder has responsibility for managing referrals within this service and the day to day management of junior staff and occupational therapy students. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with the wider multidisciplinary team, relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to this post. Under the direction of the Lead Occupational Therapist, the post holder will contribute to the evaluation and development of the occupational therapy service. The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development. The successful candidate will be part of a well- established occupational therapy service which focuses on evidence based practice and effective multidisciplinary team working.
