Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor to join our existing Urology team, consisting of 10 Consultants, 4 Specialist Registrars and 2 Specialty Doctors (inclusive of this post) who provide elective and emergency services. You will undertake theatre, ward and outpatient commitments on both the Victoria Hospital and Queen Margaret Hospital sites.

You will have a varied experience and exposure to all Urological sub-specialties. You will participate in the emergency middle grade rota which is currently a 1 in 6 rota.

You will have the support of an Educational Supervisor with the department, able to offer training opportunities in most sub-specialty areas. The Department is also willing to support continued training for the successful candidate.
Urology is a specialty within the Surgical Directorate which is part of the Acute Services Division.

You must have full registration with the General Medical Council, hold a current licence to practise and have completed at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or have equivalent experience and competencies.

The Fife Urology Department is a progressive department at the forefront of innovation, having a state-of-the art BPH/ endourology service, but also covering a wide array or subspecialities (urological cancers- including robotics and female reconstruction surgery).
