We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic specialty doctor to join our dynamic older peoples team based at QEUH. We have a Home First approach and aim to support older people in the community as much as possible. This requires early access to Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and review by a senior decision maker. Close working with the multidisciplinary team is essential. From our recent successful developments in the short stay frailty ward, Home First (HFRS) and Hospital at Home services we know that focussing our resources on the early days of assessment and treatment are beneficial for both the patient and wider hospital and community services.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the Short Stay Frailty ward in QEUH working alongside Consultants, ANP, Junior medical staff and ward multidisciplinary team. This would assist continuity of care and early senior decision making to support earliest possible discharge and flow from ground floor through acute beds.
  • Support HFRS team and liaison service in conjunction with Consultant team
  • Options to be flexible to support ground floor admissions/ H@H as appropriate
  • Scope for subspecialty interest/ clinic / interface working
  • Consultant connect
  • Depending on experience level could contribute to educational supervision, teaching, QI work or appraisal.
  • 10PA post 9DCC plus 1SPA but flexible to accommodate those who would prefer to work LTFT
