We have an exciting temporary opportunity to join our Extended Support Team providing support to some of our most vulnerable children and young people as identified through pupil equity markers, wellbeing plans and educational psychology assessments, with specific focus on erratic and non-attendance at school. 

We need someone who has initiative, can work independently to ensure tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.  Someone who can work within the wider support team, taking time to report back relevant and important information both orally and in written form.  The successful candidate will need to be self driven, empathetic and consistent in their approaches to supporting pupils.

Ideally the successful post holder will also have a background in care, social work or education support and a working knowledge of policies relating to young people in education.

On completion of additional years of service by 1 January of each year, following the anniversary of the date of appointment, your term time salary will be adjusted to include a payment in lieu of the additional leave day accrued at the beginning of each leave year for the first 10 years of service.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
