Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Speech and Language Therapist at Coylton Health Clinic.

What you will do:

The Speech and Language Therapy team delivers services at universal, targeted and specialist levels and aims to support the wellbeing needs of children, and their families, at the earliest opportunity by working in collaboration with our communities and health and education partners.

You will be working as part of our initiative to reduce waiting times across South Ayrshire, supporting children and their families. You will implement new and innovative ways of working across universal, targeted and specialist levels.

You will develop skills to autonomously manage a wide and varied caseload which may include children with complex needs, disorders of speech, language, voice, fluency, communication, eating and drinking. You will assess, treat and manage your own caseload, maintain appropriate records, work collaboratively with the clients, carers and other agencies to enable and maximise self-management.  You will form part of a dynamic team of practitioners with wide and varied expertise and skills and be supported by an experienced team lead.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Relevant University Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Sciences

Certificate to Practice from Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

You will have strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively with a range of people.

Regular support and supervision and opportunities to enhance skills will be provided.

You will have the opportunity to undertake relevant and appropriate training as part of our well-developed CPD program and to access wider skills development including attending local and national good practice events.

Hours:

37 per week.

Part time / job share will be considered.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

UK Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
