Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a registered nurse to join the Haematology / Oncology Day Unit VHK.This post is for 1 year fixed term and a secondment would be considered with current manager's approval. The day unit operates Monday to Friday 0800-1900. Shift pattern will be discussed at interview.

Applicants should have post registration experience within an acute setting and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to perform venepuncture and cannulation and completion of level one blood transfusion training is essential. Applicants should also have a genuine desire to work in this area of nursing, which covers many Haematological conditions and oncology specialties.

Completion of infusional and bolus SACT training is desirable but not essential as training will be facilitated through the Edinburgh Cancer Centre to achieve this skill.
