Full Job Description

A vacancy has arisen within Ward 52 for a 1st level trained nurse. The successful applicant will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible. 
Ward 52 is a fast paced busy surgical ward. It comprises of 24 in-patient beds. Ward 52 receives patients from the admissions unit as well as caring for the post operative patients and surgical high dependency step down patients. You should be enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated with a real interest in surgical nursing. We are looking for a good, team player with excellent written and oral communication skills. Evidence of continuing professional development and experience in acute nursing is essential. Extended skills such as IV administration, peripheral cannulation and mentorship would be preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
