Staff Nurse - Front Door Services (Acute Assessment Unit/Emergency Department)

37 hours maximum but offering various hours.

We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join the team in AAU with a rotation into the Emergency Department. This is a new post allowing us to replace the displaced pathways caused by COVID. This is a great time to join the teams of Unscheduled care within the BGH as we realign and develop services. It is also an opportunity for you to make a stamp on a new service. When you join us, you will be working with 4 Healthcare Supper workers and an Advanced Care Practitioner along with medical colleagues to deliver excellent care to the people of the borders. The AAU sees patients who have been referred into them via the GP the patient groups are mainly medical but we do have surgical and gynae hot clinics that run daily.

We are offering various hours per week. Initially this will be working 9am to 5pm 5 days a week but as the service develops it is expected that this will be a 12 hour shift pattern over Monday to Friday. As there will be a rotation into the ED as the service develops this will be a 12 hour shift pattern with occasional nights.

We are looking forward to you becoming part of our team and working with us to develop a new service.

Informal visits and enquiries encouraged. Contact Alan Milne Clinical Nurse Manager alan.milne4@nhs.scot for further information.
