OUR VALUES IN ACTION

Care and Compassion Quality and Teamwork Dignity and Respect Openness, honesty and responsibility

Dont miss this opportunity to join the team at Kelso Community Hospital. We are a nurse-led unit providing a 24hour inpatient service predominately for older people.  We offer rehabilitation, palliative and end of life care for people in the local community.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse who would like to be part of a friendly and supportive team with an ethos of continuous improvement. The post holder must be a confident decision maker, be able to work without direct supervision and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses. Newly Qualified Nurses are also welcome to apply.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and have responsibility for the assessment of needs and the delivery of high-quality person-centred care. You will also work with the other health professionals within the team, patients and families to coordinate complex discharges.

The role requires you to have full UK NMC registration and be flexible and able to work days and nights on the ward to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.

Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by Vicky Thomson, Senior Charge Nurse on Telephone or Email vicky.thomson@borders.scot.nhs.uk

***PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early***

*Please note: For part time posts the salary shown is pro rata*

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
