Full Job Description

You need to have a live NMC UK Pin/HCPC registration in order to be considered for this post. 

These posts require PVG Scheme membership /Disclosure Scotland Check.

This is a fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday (0800-1800,0800-1730, 0800-1700, 1000-2000)

Theatre registered practitioner /ODP Band 5

All Posts will be based within the Day Surgery unit in the Vale of Leven Theatre Complex in the Clyde Sector of NHSGGC.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Theatre perioperative practitioner post, within the Vale of Leven Day Surgery Theatre complex.
The unit consists of 3 operating theatres, a minor ops area and a 10 bedded recovery area. The unit operates on a Monday-Friday basis provide care for those patients requiring same day surgery for specialties such as urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, opthalmology and general surgery. The theatre department also benefits from a perioperative education SCN who works closely with staff in order to develop and support staff throughout the department.
In addition to having current NMC/HCPC registration applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest of working in the peri-operative environment. Previous experience within the peri-operative environment is a definite advantage however, not essential as full training will be given. The department offers team support and continuing education opportunities including supported funded access to the safe scrub module, anaesthetic and recovery courses at GCU as well as our own inhouse comprehensive training and mentorship programme.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a dynamic and evolving service. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
