An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Practitioner/Registered Nurse. Surgery encompasses day case elective general surgery, cataracts, oculoplastics, dentals, gynaecology and endoscopy.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses to provide an efficient and high quality theatre service. This is an excellent opportunity to work within various specialities in a Rural General Hospital. The successful applicant will be a good team player with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in this field of nursing.

Experience within the peri-operative care setting is desirable. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to increase their clinical skills to be able to provide and promote high standards of patient care. We would welcome applications from newly qualified registered nurses who are seeking to build a career pathway in theatre services.

Caithness is a beautiful county situated in the far North of Scotland offering an excellent lifestyle choice. There is affordable housing, newly built schools and recreational facilities.

This a permanent full-time 37 hour per week post, working Monday to Friday, shifts subject to service requirements it also has overnight and weekend on-call rotation, therefore the successful applicant will need to be a car driver.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
