Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

This is a fulltime, permanent post of 27 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday (dayshift).

You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. 

A keen interest in Ophthalmic nursing along with the focus to undertake further training and developing practice within Ophthalmology is desirable.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 registered nurse based in the Ophthalmology outpatient department of Inverclyde Royal Hospital Greenock. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the Ophthalmology team, and will have the responsibility of assessment delivery and supervision of all care needs within the outpatient/day bed setting. You will be required to work within a busy clinical area, working collaboratively with both nursing and medical teams. You will be expected to deliver a high standard of evidence based care utilising your clinical skills to assess patients needs, implement and evaluate care. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within changing and dynamic environment. You should have excellent communication and sound decision making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development.
