Guala Closures is bringing significant investment to Gartcosh. Our existing sites at Bridge of Allan and Kirkintilloch are transitioning to one, purpose built flagship facility based at Gartcosh Business Interchange, Lanarkshire, from 2025.  

Guala Closures are a global leader in the production of closures for spirits, wine, edible oil, water and a wide range of other beverages.

An opportunity has arisen for a Stock Controller to be responsible for procuring materials to facilitate the manufacturing process, managing stocks and arranging for delivery of goods to customer.

As part of the Supply Chain Team the Stock Controller will oversee and accurately record and manage inventories across all UK sites and 3PL providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that physical inventories at all UK sites are correct and accurately reflected on SAP.
  • Work with Operations to ensure regular physical cycle counts are carried out at all UK sites and the SAP system updated accordingly.
  • Ensure that stocks at 3PLs completely align with inventories on SAP.
  • Support the quality function and assist with non-conforming stock, investigations and customer returns to ensure SAP records are accurate.
  • Act as the key “go to” contact for all inventory matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions (including receipts, transfers, and adjustments) to meet auditing requirements.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide analysis on stock levels, turnover, and potential risks or opportunities, implementing corrections and corrective actions as required.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory control processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement and improve auditing processes to identify and resolve inventory issues or discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Fluent English in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. Ability to analyse documents and write reports. Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic math operations and computing rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Problem-solving skills for administrative tasks and interpreting instructions in various formats.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in using SAP and MS Office for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimise inventory control processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
