Job Opportunity: Freelance Sub Agent for Civil Engineering Projects

Job Overview

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Sub Agent for a long-term freelance position based in Tarbert. This role focuses on water or marine projects and offers a potential extension beyond the initial 4-month period. Accommodation is provided due to the project’s location.

Responsibilities

As a Sub Agent, your key duties will include:

  • Site supervision and conducting inductions.
  • Daily briefings with operatives and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with client specifications.
  • Assisting in the procurement of materials.
  • Producing detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and reviewing subcontractor RAMS.
  • Maintaining safety standards and targets.
  • Monitoring subcontractor progress against site schedules.
  • Ordering site materials and plant equipment.
  • Managing documents and drawings using in-house systems.

What You Can Expect

  • Duration: Minimum of 4 months with potential for extension.
  • Start Date: 13th November.
  • Working Hours:
    • Monday: 08:00 – 19:00
    • Tuesday – Thursday: 07:00 – 19:00
    • Friday: 07:00 – 15:00
    • Weekend work may be required on a rotational basis (Saturday/Sunday: 07:00 – 17:30).
  • Accommodation: Provided.
  • Rate: £30 to £35 per hour (Gross), dependent on experience.
  • Payment Methods: PAYE or CIS.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in water or marine sectors.
  • Marine experience is highly desirable.
  • Valid full UK driving licence and personal transport.
  • Essential certifications: CSCS Card and SMSTS.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Desirable: Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor qualification.
