Full Job Description
Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Supply Chain Manager for one of our clients based in Glasgow.
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's supply chain operations.
This role involves planning, implementing, and monitoring the overall supply chain strategy to maximise efficiency and productivity. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with production, procurement, logistics, and other departments to streamline processes, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet customer and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
· Forecast supply and demand to plan material needs and inventory levels.
· Monitor, analyse, and adjust supply chain operations to ensure optimal flow of goods.
· Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish solid vendor relationships.
· Conduct regular supplier performance assessments and manage supplier development programs.
· Negotiate terms to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards are met.
· Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
· Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products by managing carrier relationships and optimising routing.
· Coordinate with logistics providers to handle challenges and resolve issues promptly.
· Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring availability without overstocking.
· Implement efficient inventory management practices, such as just-in-time (JIT), to reduce waste and costs.
· Collaborate with sales and production teams for accurate demand forecasting.
· Continuously review and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
· Implement lean management techniques, where appropriate, to eliminate waste.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
