An exciting opportunity has arisen in Corstorphine Primary School for an experienced Teacher to join our talented Support For Learning team. The SFL role will be based in P1-P3 and existing Support For Learning experience is desirable

Corstorphine Primary School and Nursery are situated in the vibrant village of Corstorphine within the City of Edinburgh. The school roll is currently 578 with a capacity for 100 children in the nursery. The local community plays an important role in our curriculum from Nursery to P7.

We strive to create a nurturing and safe environment where our children lead their own learning and develop as individuals in a supportive and challenging ethos. We provide a stimulating environment for children to create, explore and learn through play so they develop a love of learning as their understanding of the world around them grows.

We have a very clear vision, 'At the heart of Corstorphine Village, we aspire to equip everyone with the tools they need to thrive' and our values are embedded at all levels. Our staff and children are:

Kind Inclusive Trustworthy and Honest

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who has experience of leading within an Early Years setting. A well-developed knowledge and understanding of current national guidance relating to early learning and childcare is essential and the successful candidate should be able to evidence this within their practice.

The successful candidate will hold, as a minimum, an HNC in Childcare and Education (or equivalent) along with some credits towards the BA in Childhood Practice. You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and learning. Strong team working and a clear vision are crucial to this role.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
