Support Practitioner - Care and Support

Nestled on the edge of Port Glasgow with stunning views of the Firth of Clyde, Carraig View is a residential service that provides a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people. Established in 2021, we are committed to helping our residents thrive, focusing on their educational and personal development. We offer a space where they can grow, gain confidence, and become well-integrated into the community, with access to a range of opportunities that support their learning and overall well-being.

Our dedicated team provides personalised care, building strong relationships with each resident to ensure their individual needs are met. We work closely with families, local organisations, and educational providers to ensure that every young person receives the support they need to reach their fullest potential. At Carraig View, we create a positive, encouraging environment where young people feel valued and empowered to make informed decisions about their future.

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll be at the heart of creating a nurturing and therapeutic environment for children and young people who need it most. Through playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy, you’ll foster positive relationships that empower them to thrive. You’ll be responsible for designing personalised care plans, supporting key-working roles, and helping children engage with their communities. Your guidance, stability, and advocacy will play a vital part in their journey toward independence, inclusion, and achievement.

What makes this role truly exciting is that it’s a mobile position, based out of our beautiful Port Glasgow home, Carraig View. In the scenic location with breathtaking views over the water and plenty of outdoor space, Carraig View offers the perfect environment for you to engage with our children. While you’ll have Carraig View as your base, you’ll also have the opportunity to work across our other residential houses. You could be rostered to work in one of our other homes, meaning your positive impact will be felt across all our houses and the children who stay there.

We believe that in order for you to deliver the best care, you need to know where you’re working and when that’s why we plan your shifts in advance. You’ll also be reimbursed for your mileage, with pay provided for travel from Carraig View to wherever you’re rostered to work. Plus, you’ll receive a generous sleepover allowance of £58.70 per night.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
