Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

There is various shift patterns as shown below:

Post 1 :2 x 20 hours per week 1500-1900 M to F Stobhill Campus.

Post 2 : 1 x 10 hours per week 0900-1400 Sat/Sun Stobhill campus.

Post 3 : 1 x 10 hours per week 0830-1330 Sat/Sun Stobhill campus.

Post 4 : 1 x 8 hours per week 1500-1900 Sat/Sun Stobhill Campus.

Post 5 : 1 x 17.5 hours per week 0545-0915 M to F Stobhill Campus, Easterhouse Health Centre.

Post 6 : 1 x 12.5 hours per week 1730-2000 M to F Stobhill campus, Springburn Health Centre.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours. 

You will undertake the cleaning of patient areas, clinical and non-clinical departments, offices and administration areas to comply with national standards of cleanliness, provide patient catering, patient laundering, patients housekeeping and porter/messenger services within various health care environments including Mental Health wards

As part of the role you will have a lot of contact with patients so good communication skills are essential.

Please note in application which post is being applied for Training will be provided including 3 days induction at West Glasgow ACH, Dalnair Street Glasgow prior to commencement of role You must have right to work in UK for the duration of your employment and be able to provide at least two references from current or most previous employment covering the last 3 years. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
