Support Supervisor, Care & Support (15/17557)

Dumfries and Galloway, One vacancy East of the region

Band 7, £31,215- £33,300

Band 8, £34,161 - £36,564

 

 

Reporting to the Area Manager you will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of Care and Support Workers, providing high quality care at home services within available resources which meet the Health & Social Care Standards

 

It is essential that you have experience of working with customers/public and experience of supervising and supporting staff with an ability to develop an effective team working by influencing and leading staff.

An awareness of and the ability to promote partnership working across health and social care settings are also essential, as are IT skills.

Effective communication, organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise your own workload; good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

 

Band 8- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years work experience in Health and Social Care, as are experience of recruitment, induction, training, and staff development processes along with those relating to maximising attendance, risk assessment and health and safety.

Band 7- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years work experience in Health and Social Care, with a willingness to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

 

Salary placing is dependent on experience and qualifications.

 

You will be required to participate in a shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays and be available on standby duties as part of a rota with other colleagues.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
