Requirements

You will have 60 relevant credit points towards first year of social work degree (one of HNC in social care or social sciences, K100, K101 or DD100).

Responsibilities

You will provide an effective high quality social work service to the people of Dundee. To be part of the Community Mental Health Team for Older People. You will assist in maintaining older people with mental health needs in the community by providing a range of tasks. These include the assessment of individual need, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages. You will carry an appropriate caseload and work alongside and under the direction of a senior or professionally qualified worker to carry out specific tasks.

The Individual

You will have experience of working with older people with mental health needs along with good oral and written communication skills Understanding of issues affecting older people with mental health needs , good planning and organisational skills. and commitment to maintaining high standards of care are also essential. You will be able to work flexibly between 8am and 8pm. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
