Full Job Description

Do you get a buzz from helping children and young people create laughter, mess and happy memories? If so, we think we have the ideal role for you.

The Yard is an award-winning charity that runs adventure play services for disabled children, young people and their families in the east of Scotland. Since we opened in 1986, our services have grown significantly, but we will always retain our holistic approach and ethos of child-centred and child-led play services.

We are looking for individuals who have the special ability to support and encourage play activities on a 1 to 1 basis with children and young people with disabilities and medically complex needs.

We are now recruiting 1:1 Support Workers to join our team delivering a holiday play service at Oaklands School. The Support Worker role is required during Edinburgh school holidays and there is the opportunity to work for only part of the period.

If successful, you will join our enthusiastic welcoming team. We are an accredited living wage employer and will provide extensive training and benefits such as life assurance.

To understand more about the role, please download the Support Worker - Holiday Support job description from The Yard's website.

To apply, please send a completed application form and equal opportunities monitoring form return to The Yard directly.

We will acknowledge all applications and intend to hold interviews in December.

The Yard aims to be an equal opportunity employer and is determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on any grounds. The above post is subject to a PVG check and SSSC registration.
