Full Job Description

At Hansel Supported Living Service we provide supports to a number of people living in their own homes including:

Beattie Close in Carrick Street, Ayr
Broadmeadows Estate in Symington
Community based supports across south Ayrshire

We deliver a variety of supports, including shared and individual, ensuring our customers enjoy life to the fullest.

Our busy, vibrant and fun services involve supporting every aspect of daily living including assisting customers to be part of their wider community. You will need to be creative and adaptable to ensure everyone is included and able to live their best lives.

Most roles involve working with individuals on a 1:1 basis but whichever service successful candidates join, you will be part of a small team and will regularly support the same people, building relationships to ensure quality care at all times.

Our rotas are created around the individual needs of the people we support. This means we have a range of shift patterns available including 12-hour shifts, waking night shifts, sleep-overs, and 8-hour shifts. We offer full time or part time working.

Experience in delivering formal social care supports or personal caring experience is desirable but not essential. There are good public transport links from Hansel but some of the people we support have their own cars so a driving license can be essential in some cases. Please see our website for current requirements.

Benefits - When you join our HSLS team you will also;

Receive full induction training, a shadow period with experienced workers, and have access to additional customer specific training as part of continuous professional development
Have an opportunity to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care
Access to 24-hour on call management support
Work various shift patterns with at least one weekend off in every three
Receive pay for your travel time and travel expenses if travelling between supports
Have a range of benefits including competitive holiday entitlement, access to free health cashback plan, employee assistance programme, occupational sick pay, refer a friend scheme and access to high street discounts.

These posts are considered to be Regulated Work with Adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update if already a Scheme member prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
