Full Job Description

Reporting to the Party Chief, the Survey Technician will be responsible for preparing, installing, operating, maintaining and documenting all survey equipment onshore (workshop) and offshore (project and vessel specific)., · Install, calibrate and maintain all survey equipment offshore as required. · Effect repairs as and when required to maintain the operational status of all equipment. · Notify the Party Chief of equipment issues in a timely manner as required. · Develop and maintain offshore reports detailing survey vessel Installations. · Online operation of survey systems and data QC providing documentation and communication including shift hand-over, field reporting and daily project reporting. · On completion of offshore activities, prepare or update Engineering Handover Notes detailing issues encountered, spares required, or equipment that needs to be updated and/or repaired. · Complete Equipment Fault Reports for damaged or malfunctioning equipment and inform the Workshop Manager and Operations Manager accordingly. · Become familiar with real-time software systems utilised offshore - QINSy navigation, Verify, Fusion USBL etc · Assist the Workshop Manager in preparing project specific equipment. · Comply with legal requirements and approved HSEQ policies, procedures and instructions · Report HSEQ issues and incidents as soon as practicable to the responsible supervisor or manager · Lead by example demonstrating that safety is paramount in the workplace · Be aware of and implement current safety trends, industry standards and practices · Attend project briefings / Debriefings to understand and participate in survey technical operations offshore. · Contribute to continuous improvement, research, development and technological advancement of MMA Subsea Services assets, equipment, systems and processes ensuring increased efficiency in project delivery. · Actively use and participate in MMA Subsea Services Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) · Participate in offshore Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems included with in the Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) · Assist with ensuring compliance with system upgrades and data accuracy. · Participate in the MMA Subsea Services Survey Competency Assurance System (CAS) by assessing field staff competencies with the Survey and Inspection Technical Manager

· 6+ years experience in offshore Survey Technician role, similar maritime industry experience or military · Proven record of running an offshore shift in support of or in lieu of Party Chief · Experience mobilising survey equipment onto vessels of opportunity and offshore installations is desirable. · Recent professional experience in IT, technical and/or mechanical roles is desirable · Previous experience with a range of subsea survey equipment and software is desirable, including but not limited to QINSy navigation, Veripos, Edgetech Discover, Sonarwiz, Sonardyne, USBL, Side Scan Sonar, Boomer, Sparker, Magnetometer, MBES etc. · Demonstrated safety management awareness · Ability to use established systems (Quality and Safety) · Excellent communication skills Qualifications: · Tertiary education certificate, diploma or degree in technology, engineering or information technology is desirable · Valid High-Risk Work Licence - Forklift (desirable) · Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable) · Valid BOSIET and CA-EBS or equivalent offshore licence (desirable),
