Full Job Description

WA is working with a global asset management firm to help source a Sustainability Accountant for a 6 month FTC with possibility of an extension.

This role will based in Edinburgh and operate on a hybrid basis.

This role will help deliver against an expanding range of disclosure requirements.

It's an exciting time to be involved in this fast-moving space, with companies coming under growing pressure to disclose more information on their sustainability efforts, and with regulations and disclosure frameworks evolving to allow for reporting in more standardized and comprehensive formats.

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant with an interest in the development of sustainability reporting
  • Experience of production and delivery of disclosures in a financial services organisation or experience of auditing such disclosures
  • Some knowledge of TCFD, SFDR, or other ESG reporting frameworks
  • Some knowledge of industry trends, best practice and developments in sustainability and sustainability reporting desirable
  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership, and has a strong track record for delivery
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the sustainability reporting project lead in the technical analysis of the Group's external sustainability reporting requirements
  • Supporting or leading the delivery of specific ESG disclosure requirements, with a particular focus on ISSB and CSRD
  • Working collaboratively with various subject matter experts to design ESG disclosures for inclusion in external reporting documents
  • Production of papers required for governance forums to support the approval and publication of ESG disclosures
  • Coordinating responses to auditor queries in relation to ESG disclosures
  • Taking personal accountability to maintaining and enhancing controls
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the ESG disclosure space
