Full Job Description

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for problem-solving? Does the idea of collaborating with various teams and driving outcomes excite you? If so, this role might be the perfect fit!

Who will you be working with?
Synaptec has spent the last 9 years revolutionising the way that grid operators and clean power generators monitor the health and performance of their assets.

Their patented technology uses advanced sensors to help reduce outages and the operational costs of modern, clean power networks.

By fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and a policy of openness and respect, they've been able to grow significantly, and with continued expansion plans over the coming months, they're now inviting more enthusiastic engineers to join them on their journey.

What will you be doing?
As their Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in providing solutions to technical challenges. You'll interface closely with the R&D, Commercial, and Operations Teams, using your communication skills to help spin great ideas into commercial realities.

With the full support of an expert team behind you, you'll help bring their sensor-based systems to life. Working closely with internal stakeholders and clients, you'll help to specify and scope new projects using your knowledge of their electrical sensing technology, helping to improve system design, calibration, installation, commissioning, and support objectives.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with customers and suppliers too, visiting their sites to help understand their unique requirements and challenges, ultimately translating them into feasible solutions for the team to work on.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

Excellent technical engineering acumen
We're looking for someone who can quickly become a product expert. You'll need to be comfortable reviewing specifications, designs, and the applications of advanced electrical sensing technology. Therefore, a related degree will be crucial.

Great communications skills
You'll need to communicate well with various stakeholders, including leading meetings, offering technical support, and writing technical proposals and reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills will be a must.

Proactivity
We're looking for a confident individual who enjoys working in a busy environment, handling multiple projects concurrently and working with autonomy. Demonstrable of this in a similar role will be highly desired.

Occasional travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis, including internationally.

In return, you can expect:

Synaptec prides itself on providing an environment that allows you to continue developing your skills and growing your career. You'll be given all of the training and support you need to develop and thrive as an engineer.

In addition to this, you'll have access to some great internal schemes, including ethical private healthcare, an invention bonus, cycle-to-work schemes, and discounted gym membership.

They also provide the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to split your time between their vibrant Glasgow office and home. We may also consider relocation support for candidates already within the UK, if applicable.
