Full Job Description

For the assigned domain be responsible to the System Engineering Manager for the successful completion of the following tasks. Other duties Include

  • Provide systems engineering support for commercial projects, to ensure the right engineering solution is delivered, whilst ensuring delivery to schedule and budget constraints
  • Co-ordinate with system designers, system engineering managers, project managers and customers to agree requirements, timescales and project plans to ensure successful delivery
  • Define, direct and support all systems engineering activities on the programme
  • Lead the elicitation of customer requirements for system changes
  • Provide system engineering support for the design and development of NATS services, ensuring that operational functionality and serviceability requirements are maintained
  • Ensuring the design and subsequent development of the system meets the needs of project work packages as well as the integrity and reliability standards applicable in NATS
  • Acting as the focal point for project queries and manage resultant documentation for change requests and problem reports arising from the design, implementation, and subsequent testing
  • Support the Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) to develop the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) to ensure clear and concise guidance for successful project delivery
  • Support the SEM and commercial team to manage, facilitate and lead commercial project triage reviews
  • Support the SEM to define, develop and execute commercial projects and associated processes covering reporting, risk management and cost optimisation
  • Ensure that all engineering related issues are resolved in a timely manner and that all engineering risks are identified and managed through the appropriate risk management process
  • Ensure the necessary safety and qualification assurance plans and evidence are in place and coherent
  • Plan and agree work package deliverables and timescales to achieve assigned project objectives.
  • Support the development of engineering solutions across the systems engineering lifecycle, including design definition, verification and validation and acceptance

    The applicant is expected to hold, as a minimum, an HNC (or an equivalent qualification) in an Engineering related discipline and have relevant engineering experience
  • Relevant experience of high-integrity real-time systems within large scale, multi-disciplined projects and practical experience of systems engineering testing and integration, with broad experience of one or more NATS systems and general knowledge of NATS ATM Architecture
