Teacher of Modern Languages (French and Spanish) - fixed term until 27/06/2025
Broughton High School

Salary: £32,217 - £48,516 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 22.91 per week  (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

We are looking for an inspirational and passionate teacher to join the highly experienced team within our Modern Languages Faculty.

The languages taught to Advanced Higher level at Broughton High School are French, Spanish and Mandarin. Italian is offered at National 4 and 5 levels and British Sign Language is offered in S2 to S6. Our school also offers a bilingual programme where students work towards early qualifications in their native languages, including Polish and Arabic.

The Modern Languages Faculty offers pupils a wide range of activities to enhance their language learning including clubs and trips and the successful candidate should be someone who is keen to be involved in these activities.

Working days will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
