We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Children and Families Team Leader in our Ayr based Locality Teams. Based in Ayr (with hybrid working available), you will be one of three Team Leaders managing of team of qualified and unqualified social work staff in their support of young people and their families. In your support and oversight of staff, your role will primarily centre around the supervision and management of staff, chairing and leading on multiagency meetings with families, overseeing care planning via Child Protection, Looked After and Team Around the Family forums ensuring this is of a high standard of quality and care for our young people. As part of your own professional development you will also have ample opportunity to be involved in service planning and delivery at both an operational and strategic level. We would invite applications from candidates with managerial experience in a social work setting who are enthusiastic, passionate, motivated, and committed to providing a high standard of support to young people and their families to keep them together and/or connected in the safest way possible. You will have a sound value base, excellent communication and written skills and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the children and families social work role and responsibilities. Candidates should work well under pressure and be able to manage competing demands flexibly, and independently. Full training in the Signs of Safety and Safe and Together models will be offered to successful candidates as required.

The Grade of this post is Grade 4 / Level 12; the hourly rate is from £26.91 to £28.55 and the annual salary is from £49,111 to £52,104.

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidates will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal Offer of Employment being made.
