Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a compassionate, collaborative and engaging individuals who, as our Team Leader - Nights, you will help each resident enjoy the highest possible quality of life, surrounded by love, friendship and support within a Christian environment, while ensuring the Home delivers excellent person-centred care and providing effective leadership to the care staff within your team. You will also contribute to person-centred assessment planning, implementation and review and put into practice person-centred care, including for residents with dementia, plus support independence in the tasks of daily living and share in the safe selection, recruitment and retention of staff to develop a quality service. You will take part in an audit schedule in line with your role, Supervising, appraising and supporting a small team of night care assistants to ensure that the home is meeting the individual needs and preferences of resident is a vital element of this role, as is taking responsibility for the continuing professional development of yourself and the staff you are responsible for. You will also need to take part in a weekly Team leader meeting to assist with continuity of care and the flow of communication (this can be remotely or on site)

To be successful, you will be an experienced Care Worker and be able to manage your own workload. You will also need to have:

  • Experience of providing care for older people in a residential setting, including people
  • living with dementia and very frail older people
  • Experience of end of life care and managing the administration of medication
  • Proven record of leading a team and having responsibility for a service
  • Outstanding leadership, relationship-building and interpersonal abilities
  • Appropriate Social Care or Nursing qualification achieved equivalent to, or working towards, Level 3 Diploma/NVQ 3 in Care
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Impressive interpersonal, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, with occasional residential work
