Full Job Description

Assist the wider Route Asset Management Structures team by undertaking general administrative, technical, and analytical services for the lead manager and their team. This involves tracking regular performance monitoring metrics and assisting engineers with workstream processes in delivering our structures exams and assessments as well as workstreams involving remedial works or structures renewals.

We manage approx. 16,000 assets across all of Scotland in our team: from small culverts and retaining walls to large Tunnels and iconic bridges such as Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Forth and Tay bridges. While a lot of what we do may be routine, each day is different in dealing with various issues on a wide array of asset types across Scotland’s railway network.

Our technical clerks are key to assisting our engineers in ensuring that our assets are safe and fit for purpose, and they play a vital role in ensuring we are managing our key deliverables across the wider structures team.

About the role (External)

Here are some of the duties your role will include: -

· Analyse and present data to support recommendations.

· Provide technical and administrative support.

· Locate and collate data, records, and other information as required.

· Carry out upkeep and review of publications, data, records, logs, etc. as required.

· Assist in the preparation of the outputs required.

· Knowledge of relevant technical function and activities

· Good analytical skills

· Good communication and organisation skills

· Knowledge of operational railway environment

· Knowledge of other functional disciplines

Salary: Starting at £22,000 and rising to £25,000 per annum.
